About Links to Learning
Lands and resources are key drivers to economic prosperity for First Nations communities throughout British Columbia. Recognizing the need for better integration of land management and economic development planning, the first Links to Learning annual technical training forum was launched in 2013 to provide combined professional development opportunities for First Nations Economic Development Officers (EDOs) and Land Management Officers (LMOs) from across BC.
The event allows Indigenous organizations with a mandate to support EDO and LMO capacity development to collaborate and bring an integrated approach to training. This approach also provides significant cost efficiencies for EDOs and LMOs to travel to one event.
Links to Learning 2023 will offer participants a selection of unique workshops and learning sessions with content developed and offered by Cando, the National Aboriginal Lands Managers Association (NALMA), Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), First Nations Land Management Resource Centre (RC), as well as a number of other Indigenous organizations.
There is no cost for EDOs and LMOs from each First Nation in British Columbia to attend Links to Learning.
Delegates from Corporate Canada are welcome to register and attend for a fee of $350.
Registration will open in September. A link to the registration site will be provided to all British Columbia EDOs and LMOs. Please review the workshop schedule and workshop descriptions on Links to Learning site and then make your workshop selections.
